| Sure, it was only his second year in the big leagues, but Smoltzie posted a nice 2.94 ERA in 89. Of course, the 1989 Braves were bad. Very, very bad. Really, really bad. Just awful. So John only won 12 games. Of course, it didn't help that he was out with a sore elbow that September. |
